New Zealand Police say they are awaiting more information after it was revealed that a South Korean man accused of killing three people may have fled to New Zealand.
The Korean Herald reported that a 35-year-old man accused of killing his mother, stepfather and 14-year-old half brother in South Korea may have flown out of the country to New Zealand two days after the alleged killings took place.
A New Zealand Police spokesperson said they are "aware of this matter and are awaiting information from Korean authorities before determining what next actions will be taken".
The Korea Herald reported that the suspect was filmed on CCTV camera arriving at the victim's home about 2pm on October 21, and their bodies were discovered later on Wednesday evening.
They sustained multiple stab wounds from what appeared to be a kitchen knife, which was found next to their bodies.
New Zealand has an extradition treaty with South Korea, which was signed in 2001.
