Year's most sickening hit earns NFL star a two game ban

October 3, 2017

Chicago Bears free safety defender Danny Trevathan has been suspended for two NFL games for a sickening helmet-to-helmet hit on defenceless Green Bay receiver Davante Adams.

Intentional helmet-to-helmet hits are illegal in the NFL but what made this one worse was that Trevathan was defenceless, hit from the blindside while other defenders pinned his arms.

Trevathan is appealing with a decision expected in the next 48 hours.

If unsuccessful, he'll miss the Bears next two games against the Minnesota Vikings and the Baltimore Ravens.
