Northern Spirit batswoman Sam Curtis has been called into the White Ferns squad for the one-day and Twenty20 cricket series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates.
Curtis is the only non-contracted player in the 14-strong squad, while spinner Erin Bermingham and wicket-keeper Rachel Priest have missed selection because of fitness.
Otago's Katey Martin will take over the keeping duties in the absence of Priest, who will prepare for the home summer.
Coach Haidee Tiffen says Priest needs to improve her physical conditioning in order to perform consistently at the international level.
"We've been clear with Rachel about the areas we want to see her improve in," Tiffen said.
"She's taken the feedback on board and is committed to putting the work in."
New Zealand and Pakistan will play three one-dayers, the first on October 31, to be followed by four T20s, with all matches in Sharjah.
White Ferns: Suzie Bates (captain), Sam Curtis, Sophie Devine, Maddy Green, Holly Huddleston, Leigh Kasperek, Amelia Kerr, Katey Martin, Thamsyn Newton, Katie Perkins, Anna Peterson, Hannah Rowe, Amy Satterthwaite, Lea Tahuhu.
