Watch: Steve Hansen leads All Blacks chain gang as he unloads massive load of team gear from truck

October 3, 2017

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen has got into the thick of the action after he and his team touched down in South Africa.

Hansen was in the back of the team's truck as he helped unload team gear and luggage, one of the first links in an impressive chain gang of burly rugby players.

The All Blacks coach had no time to rest though as he shot off to a short press conference to answer questions ahead of this weekend's Rugby Championship Test against the Springboks in Cape Town.

Hansen found himself shutting down media who were wanting a reaction from him after his South African counterpart said people were living in a "fool's paradise" if they believed the Springboks could win this weekend.

"Don't believe everything you read in the papers... because most of the time it's not true," Hansen said.

"It's reverse psychology. You guys believe it if you want to, but we won't be."

The All Blacks play the Springboks at 4am NZT on Sunday.
