He may have a bout already lined up with former heavyweight champion David Haye, but that hasn't stopped confident British boxer Tony Bellew from calling out Joseph Parker for a fight he feels he'd win easily.

Bellew, who made his heavyweight debut against Haye earlier this year, told Boxing Scene he was less than impressed with Parker's recent WBO title defence win over fellow Briton Hughie Fury.

"I think he’s a strong young boy, he's got age on his side and durability, but that's where his advantages stop - my boxing skills are far better than his and I'm quicker than him," he said.

"I do think he's the stronger man, and obviously the heavier man but, I'm just not fussed on Joseph Parker; I don't think he's a top fighter or one of the best heavyweights in the world.

"And I'm one of the them, and I'm not even a proper heavyweight. I'm just a fat cruiserweight."

Bellew said he was hunting a contract with Parker but knew a rematch with Haye was needed after a controversial end to their last fight.

The Liverpudlian fighter won the bout in the 11th round earlier this year in March by knock out despite Haye snapping his Achilles' tendon five rounds prior.

And though Haye said in the ring after the fight that Bellew was the better fighter on the day, he wanted a rematch.

"There is a big demand for this rematch, let's be honest. I'm giving the fans what they want to be totally honest.

"But if I had my way, I’d be signing off on the Joseph Parker fight. I can beat Joseph Parker in my sleep," Bellew said.

Parker's promoters are currently looking for a voluntary defence in as early as December with controversial Australian heavyweight Lucas Browne reportedly a frontrunner for the dotted line.
