Boy, 10, dies following suspicious Hastings fire

A 10-year-old boy has died following a fire in Hastings yesterday.

He died in hospital early this morning.

Another child hurt in the incident remains in a stable condition, while three adults were discharged yesterday.

The fire engulfed a building on Heretaunga Street West, Hastings around 2.30pm.

The two children were helped from the building by three people who have also been taken to hospital. (Source: Other)

Police say the fire is being treated as suspicious and appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
