American golfer Danielle Kang has criticised event organisers at the New Zealand Women’s Open today after they allowed play to continue during atrocious weather conditions.
The world No. 21 took to social media to vent her frustrations saying players were put in danger and that there were no adequate shelters around the course.
"Players were in serious danger today from not having shelter available on the course," Kang posted on Twitter.
"Players safety is #1 no matter the circumstances."
The event organisers stopped play at 5.30pm today due to another heavy downpour, meaning the NZ Women's Open will wrap up tomorrow.
Kang, 24, sits in a tie for 17th in the final round with seven holes left to play.
