A fire at Euro Car Parts in south Auckland has sent massive plumes of black smoke across neighbouring suburbs and impacted access to major roads.
A mobile phone alert has been sent to locals telling them to stay inside, close all windows and doors and avoid the fire-affected area.

Fire and Emergency NZ said firefighters are still battling the fire, and multiple appliances are present to help the efforts.
"The incident has been upgraded to a third alarm to get extra resources, bringing 18 fire trucks and approximately 72 firefighters to the scene," it said. "Due to the scale of the emergency, a portion of Great South Road has been closed to traffic."

A fire investigator arrived on-scene to find the cause of the blaze.
Auckland councillor Daniel Newman said first responders were at the scene but the fire was not yet contained.
Fire crews were responding from the Manurewa, Ellerslie and Papakura stations.

Vehicles set for scrapping could be seen next to the blaze, as a thick cloud of smoke blocked out surrounding areas.
Black smoke could be seen billowing across nearby neighbourhoods and across the nearby motorway, slowing traffic as it attracted attention.
