US President Donald Trump has launched another verbal attack on a reporter, calling him "disgusting" and telling him he looked "like hell" after being questioned about his campaign travel plans.
The exchange took place as Trump returned to Washington on Thursday (local time) following a campaign rally in South Carolina.
A Reuters journalist asked why the president had cancelled plans to attend a rally in Kansas on Saturday in support of Republican Senator Roger Marshall, who was seeking re-election.
Trump said Marshall was "doing very well" and that he no longer needed to travel to Kansas, instead planning to hold a telephone rally.
When the reporter questioned whether the decision was because Trump was "sick of travelling", the US president took aim at him.
"Oh, you're sick to ask that question. You are sick," Trump replied.
"You are a sick guy. Reuters is terrible, by the way. Can you imagine - Look at this guy. He's way out of shape."
"You've been following me for two weeks. I feel perfect. You are disgusting. Put yourself in shape. You look like hell."
Trump then walked away from reporters.
The exchange came after the president had been heard speaking with a raspy voice in recent days.

Latest clash with journalists
The confrontation marked the latest in a string of heated exchanges between Trump and journalists in recent months.
During an Oval Office exchange in September, a journalist asked Trump whether he would rule out using nuclear weapons as tensions between the US and Iran escalated.
"What a stupid question," he replied, before promptly ending the exchange.
In August, Trump repeatedly told a CNN reporter to "be quiet" after she questioned him about North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
The US president went on to describe her as a "fake reporter" and a "loud, boisterous person".
Trump repeatedly called a journalist "piggy" last year, after she pressed him about the release of files relating to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
