Emergency services are responding to a gas leak in Auckland's Newmarket this morning.
Fire and Emergency NZ were called to Newmarket at around 9.40am, responding with two crews from Remuera and Auckland City.
Police said the line near Khyber Pass Rd was damaged today while earth works were being carried out in the area.
"Khyber Pass has been closed between Crowhurst St and Broadway, with nearby buildings evacuated as a precaution," a police spokesperson said.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area and could expect delays while the line was repaired.
