Two people have been taken to hospital in a critical condition following an incident in Auckland's Glendene last night.

St John said it sent three ambulances, two critical care units and an operations manager to the scene on Kirby St in the city's west.

Two patients were taken to hospital in a critical condition. A third person was in moderate condition.

Vision from the scene showed a large number of police officers in attendance.

Police have been contacted for comment.
