Police continue to investigate after responding to a "serious incident" that took place in the South Auckland suburb of Papatoetoe on Thursday night.
Superintendent Shanan Gray said police were called to the scene on Cambridge Tce at around 6.40pm.
"Cordons are in place as emergency services work at the scene. It is likely these will remain through the night," he said.
St John said it responded with one ambulance, a critical care unit and an operations manager.
Fire and Emergency NZ said it sent three crews from Papatoetoe and Ōtara to the scene.
