An Auckland man has been charged with 11 counts of obtaining by deception after allegedly using his employer's internal systems to take $2 million worth of goods over eight years.
The 39-year-old is due to reappear in the North Shore District Court on October 15.
Police began investigating in 2025 after it was alleged that an employee had misused the company's internal systems to dishonestly obtain goods. The alleged offending spanned from 2017 to 2025.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant James Kim said the charges followed nearly a year of work by investigators.
"The investigation involved extensive analysis of company records and evidential material," he said.
"This offender caused significant financial loss to the organisation over several years, and police have worked diligently to ensure he is held to account."
Kim thanked the company for its help during the investigation.
"Police acknowledge the assistance provided by the affected company throughout our investigation."
