A man injured in a disorder incident in Lower Hutt three weeks ago has now died in hospital.
He was critically hurt in an incident on Waterloo Rd around 2am on August 30, Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Williamson said.
He was taken to hospital and has since died of his injuries.
Other suffered minor injuries.
"A 45-year-old man presented to Wellington Central Police Station the following day, and was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and striking with intent to cause grievous bodily harm," Williamson said.

"The charge has now been upgraded to manslaughter."
He was next due to appear in the Wellington High Court on October 9.
The man's family was being offered support.
