Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has reportedly had her phone number leaked after joining a WhatsApp group chat for school mums.
Prince Harry, Meghan and their two children – 7-year-old Archie and 5-year-old Lilibet – returned to the UK last month after six years in California.
On Tuesday, it was revealed the Sussexes had decided to change their children’s school amid their security team's concerns for their security.
The Sun on Wednesday reported that Meghan’s phone number had been spread online the night before their kids were due to start at school.
"Welcome to Meghan who has Archie joining [tomorrow]," a message read.
"Hi moms! Thanks for the warm welcome. So happy to be part of this community xx," Meghan replied.
The BBC reported a close friend of the family said the school was not at fault for the Sussexes moving on.
"The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family.
"This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there."
The family's return to the UK has led to a review into the level of protection the family received, with a committee reconsidering measures for the full-time residents.
The committee known as Ravec – including representatives from the Home Office, the Royal Household and the police – would assess threats and current levels of police protection.
The assessments would also include any risks the family faced in their home, as well as their travels along regularly used routes.
Prince Harry previously launched an unsuccessful legal case over his security.
He made another inquiry into his police protection earlier this year, before the Sussexes' plan to return to England became public.
