Two people are in hospital after police were called to an assault in Auckland's Ponsonby overnight.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Ponsonby Road between Brown and Douglas streets at around 2.50am.
Two people were found with moderate and serious injuries, police said.
"Both are receiving medical treatment, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances."
A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said two people were taken to Auckland Hospital, both in serious condition.
