A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a truck in Invercargill last night.
Police were called to Clyde Street, near Crinan Street, after a crash involving a truck and motorcycle around 9.30pm.
"Sadly, the motorcyclist was located deceased at the scene," a police spokesperson said.
The serious crash unit was in attendance.
The road remained closed this morning, and motorists were advised to expect delays.
New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi said a separate crash had closed State Highway 1 between Tweed St and Bond St in Invercargill this morning.
"Road users are advised to avoid the area or delay their journey if possible. The road is expected to remain closed for several hours," an NZTA spokesperson said.
Northbound traffic turn left onto Bond St, right onto Tweed St, left back onto SH1. Southbound traffic turn left onto Tweed St, right onto Nith St and continue onto SH1.
