The new American Football season kicks off from today on TVNZ, with three matches a week and culminating with the playoffs and Superbowl in early 2027.
The NFL (National Football League) will screen each week on both linear television and streaming on TVNZ+.
The new season begins today at 12.15pm with a mouthwatering rematch of this year’s Super Bowl finalists the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks defeated the Patriots 29-13 to claim Super Bowl LX in California in February.
Today’s clash screens on TVNZ’s DUKE channel and on TVNZ+.
Then on Friday the San Francisco 49ers take on the LA Rams in the first NFL match to be played in Australia at Melbourne’s MCG stadium.
The regular NFL season stretches from September to January, with one match live on DUKE and three games on TVNZ+ each week.
The Super Bowl grand final on February 15 next year will be broadcast live on TVNZ 1 and TVNZ+.
The NFL competition is comprised of 32 teams, divided evenly into the American Football Conference and the National Football Conference.
