A car has landed upside down in the drive-thru of a West Auckland McDonald's this afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to the corner of Great North Rd and West Coast Rd at around 12.35pm on Wednesday, where the car came to rest flipped completely onto its roof, wheels in the air, just metres from the drive-thru menu board.
Police said the single-vehicle crash was the result of a "parking mishap", with no reports of any injuries. Fire and Emergency NZ responded with one crew.
Pictures captured by 1News showed the damaged car squarely under the "2.4m Drive Thru" sign, with orange cones already out to prevent access and onlookers gathering by the garden bed.
A second vehicle at the scene also sustained damage, with its bumper torn away.
A worker at McDonald's Kelston told 1News the front counter of the restaurant remained open, although the drive thru would be closed.
