Sky Television has apologised after an outage left some viewers watching cycling rather than the All Blacks vs Lions clash in Johannesburg.
Customers took to social media after the Sky Sport Now app failed to show the match, with some reporting cycling was playing on the channel instead.
In a statement to 1News, Sky Television apologised to impacted viewers.
"We would like to apologise to customers who experienced issues viewing content on the Sky Sport Now app this morning, particularly those who were up early to watch the All Blacks," a spokesperson said.
"The viewing issues some customers experienced were caused by an international platform outage.
"The Sky Sport Now team has worked with our global partner to restore services as quickly as possible and the issue has now been resolved."
Dozens of customers voiced their displeasure at the mixup.
“Imagine waking up at 5am to watch the ABs… only for Sky Sport to be the one who sleeps through the alarm. You literally had one job this morning", one wrote.
“Lions are 14-0 up thanks Sky. Refund a days extortionate subscription cost please while I try find somewhere to listen online. Having to watch online updates while Sky Sport 1 plays the cycling”, another said.
