A New Zealand man has been released on bail after he was charged with knocking another man unconsious in Sydney at the weekend.
Video from Coogee Bay Rd captured the pair interacting after both reportedly left the same venue around 11pm on Saturday night (local time).
The alleged attacker, 26-year-old Rangi Moore, can then be seen embracing the 41-year-old victim, before they get into a physical altercation. The victim appeared to be backing away before he was knocked unconscious. He was left sprawled on his back on the pavement.
Other people are then seen rushing to the man's aid, instructing others on the street to call emergency services, who arrive three minutes later.
The victim was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital where he was in a stable condition on Sunday.
Moore was arrested at the scene and taken to Maroubra police station.
On Sunday, he was transferred to Surrey Hills to face court, charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Moore was released on bail late on Sunday afternoon, according to Nine news, and would return to court in August.
One person said it was "a horrible thing to see. It's very violent."
Another said "people get a bit excited after a few beers, but there's no point to it".
