Madeleine McCann's younger brother will represent Scotland as a swimmer at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
According to the Guardian, Sean McCann is expected to compete in several longer-distance freestyle events at the event.
The games officially start on Thursday (NZT).
Sean and his twin sister were two when their 3-year-old sister disappeared during a family trip in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2007.
Madeleine's disappearance has since become one of the world's most high-profile missing persons cases, with countless documentaries and speculation around it. A UK police investigation has remained open since 2011. Nobody has been charged over her disappearance, and she was never found.
Sean previously represented Scotland at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2023, finishing fifth in the 400 metre freestyle and seventh in the 1500 metre freestyle.
In a video posted to Loughborough University Swimming's Instagram page, Sean explained how he got into swimming.
"When I was eight, my mum [Kate McCann] took me to Loughborough Town [swimming club] and I hated it at first, didn’t want to go, but after a while, it grew on me and I’m still here now.”
He is eligible to represent Scotland through his Glasgow-born father Gerry.
