Foodstuffs has announced an end date for the for the Clubcard loyalty programme, which was replaced by Club+ last month.
Clubcard will officially be be phased out at 11.59pm this Sunday, July 26.
Those who have not yet joined Club+ programme were encouraged to make the switch before Clubcard officially closes, in order to continue accessing member discounts and offers.
Members of the old programme who join Club+ will have any New World Dollars in their account automatically transferred to Club+ Dollars, the company said.
Under the new loyalty programme, customers at New World and Four Square can earn Club+ Dollars and fuel discounts, while PAK'nSAVE customers can earn fuel discounts and redeem Club+ Dollars.
Foodstuffs chief customer officer Deirdre Boyle said shopping habits and customer expectations had changed significantly since Clubcard first launched.
"When Clubcard was introduced, smartphones were still becoming part of everyday life. Technology has changed enormously since then and so have shoppers' expectations.
"Clubcard has served New Zealanders incredibly well, but it’s important to us that the experience we provide continues to evolve. Club+ gives us the flexibility to deliver a more connected and personalised experience that rewards our customers every time they shop across our co-operative’s family of brands."
Clubcard members who do not join Club+ before Clubcard closes are able to still transfer their New World Dollars balance if they join at a later date, Foodstuffs confirmed.
Any remaining balance will then expire 24 months after their last Clubcard transaction.
