Powerball rolls over to $30m – the biggest jackpot of the year

Wednesday's winning numbers were 06, 10, 14, 19, 20, and 27, with a bonus ball of 39 and a Powerball of 01.

Two lucky ticket holders took home $500,000 each in last night's Lotto draw as Powerball rolled over to a whopping $30 million jackpot, the largest prize up for grabs this year.

Wednesday's winning numbers were 06, 10, 14, 19, 20, and 27, with a bonus ball of 39 and a Powerball of 01.

The two winning First Division tickets were sold at Night n Day Taranaki St in Wellington and on MyLotto to a player in Christchurch.

No one won the Powerball last night, so it rolled over to Saturday night where the jackpot will be $30 million.

Three other players won Strike Four and took home $133,333 each, with the winning tickets purchased at Jyotis Dairy in Auckland's Mount Roskill, Graeme Ave Superette in Auckland's Māngere East, and Waipapa Dairy in Northland.

Twenty-one players each won $17,028 with Lotto Second Division. Two of those winners also struck Powerball Second Division, boosting their total prize to $29,848.

The winning tickets were sold at stores across the country, including in Dargaville, Auckland, Waiuku, Hamilton, Waharoa, Tauranga, Feilding, Palmerston North, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Timaru and Wānaka, with several tickets also purchased through MyLotto.

Saturday's $30 million jackpot will be the largest up for grabs so far this year.

The previous largest was a $28.6 million prize won by an Ashburton family who had been playing the same numbers for years on a $7.50 ticket.

The winning ticket was sold at Four Square in Netherby, with the windfall consisting of the $28 million Powerball and three Lotto First Division wins worth $200k each.

The family initially didn't believe they had won, describing the discovery as "such a mix of emotions", with one member breaking down in tears.

They said they were still overwhelmed by the prize and planned to take their time deciding how to spend it, with buying their first home high on the list.
