SkyCity and AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand have launched the world's highest lift-and-descent ride from Auckland's Sky Tower today.
The SkyRide takes riders 192 metres up outside the Sky Tower, before a high-speed descent back to ground level.
SkyRide is the third attraction at the Sky Tower, following the opening of SkyJump in 2001 and SkyWalk in 2007.
SkyCity’s hospitality general manager David Allott described SkyRide as an exhilarating new way to experience Auckland.

"From the moment you're lifted up the side of the Sky Tower to the high-speed descent back to ground level, it's a ride designed to get your heart racing while taking in some of the best views in the country."
Breakfast reporter Lucy Bendell was one of the first people to try the new ride.
"You're hovering in the air and then all of a sudden they just drop you," she said.
"Your heart just sinks, your tummy sinks."
She said the SkyRide was "a lot scarier" than the SkyJump because you don't know when the drop was coming.
