Man charged with arson after fire at Luxon's electorate office

A man has been arrested following a small fire at Christopher Luxon's electorate office in east Auckland yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the Millhouse Drive property in Northpark at around 9.50am.

This morning, police said a 24-year-old man had been arrested and charged with arson.

He was due to appear in the Manukau District Court today.

"Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the fire," Detective Inspector Karen Bright said.

No-one was harmed in the incident, a spokesperson for the Prime Minister said yesterday.

Fire and Emergency NZ said it was called to the office on Millhouse Dr at 9.30am and sent one truck from Howick.
