One critical, SH1 blocked in lower North Island crash

One person is in critical condition and two have moderate injuries after a three vehicle crash involving a truck on SH1 in the Horowhenua region this morning.

Emergency services were called to the crash near the Manakau North Rail Overbridge at Manakau around 6.25am.

NZTA said the road was blocked and with no diversions in place. Motorists should avoid travel where possible, and can expect delays.

"No adjacent local road detours are available, and there is no estimate for when the highway will reopen."
