One in serious condition after crash involving car, cyclist in Wellington

One person is in serious condition in Wellington Hospital after a crash involving a car and a cyclist near the central city.

The incident occurred in Thorndon around 6:50am.

Fire and Emergency helped a person who was trapped, who was then transported to Wellington Hospital by Wellington Free Ambulance.

Police also responded.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
