Emergency services were called to a vehicle fire on the beach near Peka Peka Road at around 12.45am today.
When they arrived, a body was found inside the vehicle.

A scene guard was in place overnight, with a scene examination scheduled for today.
"We believe there is no ongoing risk to the public," Minney said.
The public was asked to stay away from the beach while the scene was examined.
