A 17-year-old male has been arrested in the wake of an out of control party in Auckland's Mt Albert last month.

The party, which took place on March 27, took place at a short-term rental on Phyllis Street and saw a number of people seriously injured.

Police at the time said early information suggested "that a vehicle was driven toward a group of partygoers".

The day after the incident, residents told 1News they heard "lots of screaming" and "there were a lot of young people coming out onto the road".

Today, police Detective Senior Sergeant Anthony Darvill said the 17-year-old was due to appear in Auckland Youth Court tomorrow.

He is charged with wounding, aggravated assault, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and being an unlicensed driver.

"Inquiries remain ongoing to identify others and hold them to account for their behaviour," Darvill said.

People with relevant information on the incident can contact police on 105 via phone or online.

Information could also be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
