Christopher Luxon reveals Cabinet shake-up
Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has announced a refreshed ministerial lineup, promoting Chris Penk and Penny Simmonds into Cabinet and elevating the Energy portfolio to senior minister Simeon Brown.
The reshuffle, which takes effect from April 7, comes as senior National MPs Judith Collins and Shane Reti leave Parliament at the end of the term.

President Donald Trump said US forces will “finish the job” in Iran soon as “core strategic objectives are nearing completion”, offering a full-throated defence of the war in his first national address since the conflict began more than a month ago.
Trump got a wide audience and a chance to articulate clear objectives for the war after weeks of changing goals and often contradictory messages about whether he’s winding down or ready to escalate military operations.
He promised US forces would continue to hit Iran very hard.
Former NZME executive who hired underage girl for 'sexual services' named
A former Auckland business executive who was convicted of hiring an underage girl for "commercial sexual services" can now be named.
He is Greg Hornblow, former chief executive at NZME's OneRoof.
Hornblow pleaded guilty in November 2025 to receiving "commercial sexual services" from a person aged under 18.
He was sentenced to 10 months home detention in the Auckland District Court in March and ordered to pay $3000 in emotional harm reparation.
