Prime Minister Christopher Luxon will announce a reshuffle of his Cabinet on Thursday, 1News understands.
The changes have apparently been triggered by the departure of Judith Collins and Shane Reti, who are currently two National ministers in Luxon's coalition government.
The reshuffle has been widely anticipated, with the PM having last shaken up his ministers' portfolio responsibilities more than a year ago.
It's widely expected he would use the opportunity to bring in fresh blood around the Cabinet table amid an election year.
Collins was expected to leave Parliament when her new role as the Law Commission president begins in the middle of this year.
She has been a mainstay of the National-led government, holding the roles of Attorney-General and the ministerial portfolios for defence, public service, space, and digitising government. Collins also holds responsibility for the SIS and GCSB.
1News understands Chris Bishop would also be expected to lose one of his portfolios as signalled earlier in the year.
He currently holds the ministerial portfolios for housing, transport, infrastructure, and resource management reform. Bishop was also an associate minister of finance and for sport and recreation.
Reti announced earlier this month he would stand down at the election.
He currently holds the ministerial portfolios for universities, statistics, Pacific peoples, and science, innovation and technology.
News that the Prime Minister's reshuffle plans would emerge later this week comes after speculation swirled of a Sunday evening meeting involving the National leader.
MPs were tight-lipped on rumours of discord within the party, The Post reports.
