Two Auckland players have each won $12.75 million after sharing Powerball First Division in Saturday night’s live Lotto draw.
The winning numbers were 05, 12, 19, 27, 30 and 38, with a bonus ball of 14 and a Powerball of 03.
The winning tickets were sold on MyLotto. Each prize includes $12.5 million from Powerball First Division and $250,000 from Lotto First Division.
The two winners were the seventh and eighth Powerball multi‑millionaires this year.
The win comes just over a month after an Auckland player won $4.5 million, a prize that went unclaimed for more than two weeks. That winner later said he planned to buy a home for his family.
Two other players won $250,000 each with Lotto First Division. The winning tickets were sold at New World Broadway in Palmerston North and on MyLotto to a player from Canterbury.
Two Strike players also won $200,000 each with Strike Four. The winning tickets were sold at Dominion Superette in Auckland and Kaimanawa Store in Palmerston North.
Lotto NZ is urging anyone who bought tickets from the winning stores or on MyLotto to check their tickets as soon as possible, either in‑store, online or through the MyLotto app. Players with questions about claiming a prize can contact Lotto NZ on 0800 695 6886.
Meanwhile, 28 players each won $13,923 with Lotto Second Division. Four of those players also won Powerball Second Division, taking their total winnings to $20,746.
Those tickets were sold on MyLotto to players from Waikato, Taranaki, the West Coast and Ashburton.
Lotto NZ said the remaining Lotto Second Division winning tickets were sold at stores around the country.
Earlier this week, Lotto NZ announced the first change to its Powerball format in nearly two decades.
Lotto NZ said it was upping the number of Powerballs from 10 to 14, which would "increase the number of prize divisions and the likelihood of winning a prize in each draw".
It was also adding a new Powerball Division 8, raising the starting Powerball jackpot from $4 million to $5 million and increasing the maximum jackpot from $50 million to $60 million.
