Partygoers injured during 'large disorder event' in Auckland

Two people were injured after reports that a vehicle was driven towards a group of partygoers in Auckland overnight, police say.

A police spokesperson said officers were called to a "large disorder event involving young people" on Phyllis Street in Mount Albert at around 9.50pm.

"Early information suggests that a vehicle was driven toward a group of partygoers," the spokesperson said.

One suffered moderate injuries while the other sustained minor injuries.

"During the wider disorder, at least two additional individuals also sustained moderate injuries.

"Police are continuing to investigate and work to establish exactly what occurred."

Hato Hone St John said five ambulances, four rapid response vehicles, and two managers were deployed to the scene.

"Our crews assessed and treated two patients in a serious condition, and three patients in a moderate condition who were transported to Auckland City Hospital, and one patient in a minor condition who was assessed and treated at the scene," police said.
