Christchurch store worker's arm broken in robbery

Four masked offenders entered a Hornby store last night.

A worker was assaulted and had their arm broken after four masked offenders robbed a store in Christchurch last night.

Police were called to Main South Road in Hornby at 7.30pm last night when four people entered the store, stole items, and assaulted a worker.

They then fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.

The injured worker was taken to Christchurch Hospital in an ambulance, suffering a broken arm.

The stolen vehicle was later located on Ellesmere Road in Lincoln.

"However, the alleged offenders were not with the vehicle and have yet to be found," Sargeant Rebecca Podmore said.

Police urged anyone with information about the incident or the alleged offenders to come forward.

"If you were in the Main South Road, or surrounding areas, in Hornby between 7pm and 8pm last night, and saw a grey Toyota Rav 4 or have dashcam/CCTV footage of the vehicle, please get in touch," Podmore said.

Information could be provided through 105.
