Three lucky Lotto players will be taking home a share of $1 million in first division winnings from Wednesday night's draw, while Powerball was not struck and rolls over to $25 million.
The winning tickets were sold at Willowbank Superette in Auckland, and on MyLotto to players from Whangārei and Waikato.
Powerball was not struck on Wednesday and has rolled over to Saturday night's draw, where a $25 million jackpot will be up for grabs.
Strike Four also rolled over tonight and will be $400,000 on Saturday night.
Thirteen other players around the country pocketed $26,559 each with Lotto Second Division, with two of them getting a Powerall boost to $38,629.
Earlier this week, Lotto NZ announced it was changing its Powerball format for the first time in nearly two decades, increasing the number of Powerballs from 10 to 14.
It also announced the introduction of a new Powerball Division 8 — increasing the starting Powerball jackpot from $4 million to $5 million and the maximum jackpot from $50 million to $60 million.
Lotto NZ chief executive Jason Delamore described the move as a "gamechanger", saying the updated format would keep the game fun and exciting for players.
"The new Powerball Division 8 is a gamechanger. We expect its introduction will lift the total number of weekly Powerball winners by 30%, from about 47,000 winners to 62,000 winners on average," Delamore said.
“We’re really happy that we’ve managed to retain what people love about Powerball, while making a few refinements along the way."
The live Lotto draw will air on TVNZ 1 and on TVNZ+ at 8.20pm on Saturday.
