After a rocky few months, the Castlepoint Hotel has a new operator and plans to open again for business this weekend.
The hotel made the announcement on its Facebook page.
“We’re back!!!,” it said.
“We’re opening our doors again with restaurant and accommodation available, and a solid range of non-alcoholic options to enjoy. Our alcohol licence is currently in progress. Watch this space! We can’t wait to welcome you all back and be part of the community again.”
The property has been leased to the new operator.
After a few uncertain months of operation due to the licensing issues, the Castlepoint Hotel in Masterton decided to close in mid-February.
Director of the former licence holder, Fireballs Imports Ltd, Jason Osborne, wished the new operators well.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity and I have no doubt they will make the most of it with the support of a great community. I wish them all the very best and look forward to seeing what they can achieve,” he said.
The weekend reopening comes after the hotel closed following the loss of it’s on and off licence late last year.
It was initially granted a stay, allowing it to continue operating over the holiday period. However, the stay was lifted last month after the Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority found breaches of conditions had taken place.
The restaurant reopens this weekend, with dinner served on Friday, breakfast and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
“Join us this weekend for dinner and enjoy a great range of non-alcoholic beverages,” the hotel’s Facebook page said.
