A police investigation is underway after a body was found at a construction site in Hastings.
Sergeant Karli Whiu said police were called to the site on Omahu Rd at 7pm Thursday after a man was located deceased.
"The man was not an employee at the site and his death is currently being treated as unexplained," Whiu said.
"Work is underway to formally identify the man and, at this stage,we are unable to provide any further details regarding his identity."
A scene guard was in place while a scene examination was carried out.
