Police investigators now "believe they know" who was involved in the death of Abdulhassan Nabizadah, left bleeding and unconscious on a Wellington footpath a year ago today.
Nabizadah was assaulted and robbed on Camperdown Rd in Miramar at around 12.30am on March 17, 2025, in what police have described as a premeditated attack. He later died of his injuries in Wellington Hospital.
No charges have yet been laid over his death.

However, Wellington area investigations manager Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Leitch said police were still pursuing justice for Nabizadah's family.
"The offenders, who stole nothing more than his car keys, then callously left him bleeding and unconscious on the footpath," Leitch said.
"The investigation team has gathered a significant amount of information and believe they know who is involved."

Police issued a renewed call for information on Tuesday morning, believing those involved will have spoken about the death with friends and family.
"It is not too late to provide Mr Nabizadah’s family with answers – if you know something, we encourage you to speak with us."
Nabizadah has been described as a gentle, caring husband, father and grandfather who brought his family from Afghanistan in search of a better life.
Police urged anyone with information to make a report via 105 using reference number 250317/6324, or referencing Operation Celtic.
