'Do not approach': Police seek man over Auckland shooting

Police are seeking a man over an alleged shooting in Auckland's Papakura earlier this month which left one person seriously injured.

Nigel Byrd Edwards, 41, should be considered dangerous and should not be approached, police said.

It comes following a shooting on Marne Rd on the afternoon of March 8, which police said at the time left one person seriously injured.

Armed police attended the scene as a precaution.

The injured person was taken to Middlemore Hospital.

Police believed Edwards was actively avoiding them, and have made multiple inquiries into his whereabouts.

Anyone who sees Edwards is asked to contact 111.
