A star of popular British quiz show The Chase is on the mend after undergoing surgery.
Shaun Wallace, known on the ITV game show as The Dark Destroyer, is recovering after having knee replacement surgery three weeks ago.
"We’re filming now but I’ve just had knee replacement surgery," the 65-year-old quiz master revealed on the Royal Kennel Club podcast.
"I’ve been training every single day to make sure I can physically walk up and down the plank when I go back on March 17th. I’ve got to make up my own recording time."
The barrister and part-time lecturer is also looking forward to an "exciting" new spin-off of the show – Chase Around the World.
Filming in May, the show has pairs of contestants travel to secret international locations to follow clues and solve puzzles in a bid to find the six Chasers.
"I’m really looking forward to that one,” he said.
Host Bradley Walsh said the "bold new take" on the show "combines quizzing with travelling and will test contestants' knowledge like never before".
"The Chasers are already famous around the world, so fans can look forward to seeing them play their trade in some superb secret locations."
The Chase has been on the air since 2009 and has launched multiple spin-offs, including Beat the Chasers; The Chase: Bloopers; The Chasers’ Road Trip: Trains, Brains and Automobiles; and The Family Chase. It's also spawned New Zealand and Australian versions of the show.
