Dramatic footage has showed the moment a police car crashed into the front of a home in western Sydney, the second time a police vehicle had caused damage at the property in two years.
New South Wales police were responding to an incident with lights and sirens on when the car swerved off the road and crashed into the house in Merrylands at around 5pm on Tuesday (local time).
CCTV footage showed the car coming over a speed hump before hurtling towards the house and into the garage, causing significant damage.
The police officers and the occupants of the home were uninjured, but the damage to the home was so severe that the family was unable to stay there overnight.
The homeowners, Sylvia and Frank, said it was the second time a police vehicle had crashed into the property, with a police car involved in a pursuit crashing into the front fence in 2024.

"This has got to stop, because the third time, they're gonna kill someone," Sylvia told 9News.
"They almost killed my family, and a simple 'sorry about this', it's not good enough."
Frank said he was saying goodbye to his daughter in the driveway just moments before the police car careened into the house.
"It makes it real, when you normally stand there," he told 9News.
NSW Police said the officers had been responding to an assault and that the crash was under investigation.
"As with all police involved crashes, the incident will be reviewed by a safe driver panel to assess the actions of the officers involved," it said in a statement.
"The New South Wales Police Force is currently working with its insurance provider to arrange the necessary repairs."
