History Never Repeats? Split Enz extends reunion with two shows

One of New Zealand's most legendary bands, Split Enz, has announced arena shows in Auckland and Wellington off the back of their sold-out headlining slot at Christchurch's Electric Avenue last week.

Fresh off a sold‑out, 45,000-strong headlining set at the Hagley Park festival — their first performance in 18 years and their 1000th gig together — the legendary group is taking its reunion on the road.

Now the band's reunion tour, dubbed Forever Enz, will see Neil Finn, Tim Finn, Eddie Rayner and Noel Crombie perform at Wellington’s TSB Arena on May 6, before heading to Auckland’s Spark Arena on May 9.

“Aotearoa, rugged individual,” Tim Finn said.

“We’re looking forward to climbing into our new Noel Crombie suits and seeing you all soon. The songs are sounding shiny and new… if music be the food of love, Split Enz are the silverware,”

Forming in 1972 before relocating to Australia three years later, Split Enz is regarded as one of New Zealand's most important groups in the last five decades.

Their catalogue include hits like I Got You, I See Red, Message To My Girl, Six Months In A Leaky Boat, History Never Repeats, and One Step Ahead.

Presale tickets for the reunion concerts go on sale on March 3, with general tickets available from March 5.
