A body has been found in the search for a kayaker missing near Auckland's Waiwera this morning.
Emergency services were notified of a man missing in the water after coming off his kayak around 7.35am.
Police, including the maritime unit aboard Deodar and the Police Eagle, Surf Lifesaving New Zealand, and volunteers from Hibiscus Coastguard took part in the search effort.
The man was found dead early this afternoon, police said.
"Police are providing support to his family at this difficult time."

The death will be referred to the coroner.
