A sinkhole formed suddenly in Omaha, Nebraska, on Tuesday afternoon (local time) and swallowed two cars stopped at a red light.

Omaha Police said the two drivers were able to get out of their vehicles — and the sinkhole — by the time emergency crews arrived. No injuries were reported.

Crews later towed both cars and began removing concrete from the sinkhole.

Authorities say that section of the street could be closed for several days. They warned drivers to avoid the area as it is possible that the sinkhole could expand.
