Donald Trump delivers State of the Union address
US President Donald Trump delivered his annual State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress on Capitol Hil today, touting the economy, tariffs and his ongoing nationwide crackdown on immigration.
During his address, Trump praised his tax cut bill, welcomed the US men's gold medal-winning hockey team and declared "America is back".
The president and his party appear vulnerable, with polls showing much of America distrusts how Trump has managed the government in his first year back in office.
Public can return to most of Wellington's southern beaches
People could now go on the beaches and swim near the shore in the area from Ōwhiro Bay to Breaker Bay, Wellington Water has said.
Earlier this month, raw sewage was discharged close to shore at Moa Point Treatment Plant, prompting the city to place an "unsuitable for swimming" label across the beaches of its southern coast,
Mayor Andrew Little declared the crisis over by going for a dip today.
Age limit for riding bikes on footpaths proposed by Government
Children aged 12 and under will be able to ride their bikes on the footpath under a series of road rule changes proposed by the Minister of Transport.
Public consultation on two packages opened today, looking to change some of New Zealand's every day road rules.
Currently, people on bikes are generally not allowed to ride on the footpath, regardless of age.
