Police have recovered several historic war medals while carrying out a search today in Palmerston North.
The unusual discovery was made at an address in Kelvin Grove – and the military decorations were believed to be stolen, police said.
The medals included a 1939-1945 star, an Atlantic star, a Burma star, and the 1939-1945 war medal.
Police said the medals would hold significant sentimental value to someone and they would like to return them to their rightful owner.
“If the medals medals belong to you, or know someone who is missing their medals, please get in touch.”
