Three men have been arrested after a suspected gang-related shooting which injured four people at an address in Christchurch on Wednesday night.
Police were called to a house on Hoani St in the suburb of Northcote at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, where a gun was fired during an altercation.
This morning, Canterbury District Commander Superintendent Tony Hill said the men, aged 19, 31 and 40, were charged with aggravated wounding and aggravated robbery.
"Two are due to appear in the Christchurch District Court today, and the 40-year-old is due to appear in Dunedin," he said.
Police were not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.

"We will not tolerate this type of offending. If you choose to commit serious violence, we will act swiftly," Hill said.
He emphasised that incidents of this nature "understandably concern people".
"Please be reassured this was a contained incident, and there is no ongoing risk."

Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves said yesterday that police had "established that this was a gang-related incident". She said the shooting was targeted at people at the property.
Residents could expect to see police at the Hoani Street address again today as scene examinations continue.
