Four injured, one critically, in Christchurch home invasion

Police at the scene of an altercation in Christchurch's Northcote this morning.

Four people have been injured in a home invasion in Christchurch last night.

Canterbury District Commander Superintendent Tony Hill said emergency services were called to the scene on Hoani St, Northcote about 9.30pm.

"One person is reportedly in critical condition, with another person receiving serious injuries," he said.

"Two others received either minor or moderate injuries."

Hill said cordons remained in place this morning while a scene examination was carried out, and inquiries were ongoing.

Anyone in the area who might have witnessed anything around the time of the incident was urged to contact 105.

St John said it sent three ambulances, three rapid response units, and four operations managers to the scene.
