A person was found with a gunshot wound in Auckland's Mission Bay overnight following a reported "altercation".
Police were called to the Thatcher Street address at about 9.15pm after a report a person had been shot.
"Upon arrival one person was located with a gunshot wound and transported to hospital in a stable condition," Detective Senior Sergeant Rebecca Kirk said.

Kirk said it appeared a group of people had gone to the property before an altercation took place.
"Inquiries are now underway to identify and locate those responsible."
Kirk called on anyone with information on the incident to contact police or call 105.
